From the slums of Kingsport to the shores of the Cold Isles, the belching sewers of Khanduran holdfasts to a crumbling castle on the moors of Scosglen, Hell takes root in its varied forms. But a warning is offered to those who would challenge it: Evil endures defeat, death, and time. Lose vigilance for but a moment, and it will return to claim what it is owed.

From the Diablo development team and some of the darkest minds in modern horror comes this testament to the relentless march of evil, and the sacrifice it takes to earn even a moment's reprieve. Shadows of Sanctuary is a chilling reminder that even the bravest intentions can lead to tragic ends.

Lily X. ★★★★★

The Scosglen castle story was the one I kept thinking about after I finished — genuinely eerie stuff. Fifteen or so stories in here, and even the shorter ones set in Kingsport and the Cold Isles feel complete rather than rushed. Perfect for reading one a night.

Benjamin Q. ★★★★★

The Khanduran sewer stories got under my skin in the best way, especially the one about the holdfast slowly sinking into rot. Each tale treats Hell differently, so nothing feels repetitive across the collection. Read it over three nights and kept thinking about the Scosglen castle one after.

Avery P. ★★★★☆

The Khanduran sewers segment is so vividly written I could practically smell it—grimy and gross in the best way. Four stars because a couple of the earlier tales dragged a bit, but by the Cold Isles shore I was fully hooked.
