Diablo 30th Poster: Framing & Display Tips

Quick answer

Frame your Diablo 30th Anniversary 24x18 poster with archival materials and hang it away from direct sunlight to preserve the artwork and anniversary logo for years.

Step-by-step framing and display guide

1. Choose a 24x18 frame with UV-protective glazing: Buy a standard 24x18 frame (not 24x36) so the poster fits without trimming. Look for acrylic or glass marked UV-blocking to reduce fading from ambient light. A frame labeled UV-protective costs a bit more but prevents yellowing and ink fade over time.
2. Use acid-free matting or a backing board: Place the poster between the frame and an acid-free mat or backing board. This prevents chemical transfer that can cause the paper to become brittle or discolored. Skipping a mat can lead to the poster sticking to the glass over time, especially in humid conditions.
3. Hang away from direct sunlight and humidity: Mount the framed poster on an interior wall that does not receive direct sunlight. Avoid bathrooms or kitchens where moisture fluctuations can warp the paper. Even UV glass cannot stop fading if the poster is in constant direct sun. Choose a hallway or living room wall instead.
4. Clean the glazing gently with a microfiber cloth: Dust the frame surface weekly. When cleaning, spray cleaner onto the cloth, not the frame, to prevent moisture seeping behind the glass. Using paper towels or household glass cleaner can scratch acrylic or leave streaks that obscure the artwork.
